Gran Turismo 7’s First Post-Launch Patch Adds New Race Display Feature

Gran Turismo 7 has already received two new features via its first post-launch update. Patch 1.06 brought with it wind direction and wind speed indicators as well as 64 music tracks. On the upper right of the screen under Track Map, players will now be able to see an arrow indicating wind direction and a wind speed number.

As far as bugs are concerned, Polyphony Digital has fixed a rare Menu Book progression blocker. On the PS4 specifically, Gran Turismo 7 should no longer crash when using Broadcast features. On the multiplayer front, the issue of weather and time set by the host not appearing correctly for other players has been fixed. Polyphony Digital has also changed the ‘Flash and Toggle High/Low Beams’ function assigned to the DualShock 4 and PS5’s DualSense to ‘Flash High Beams.’ If you’ve remapped the button, restore default settings for the change to take place.

Trophy hunters will be pleased to note that the ‘Rain Royalty’ trophy glitch has been fixed. Some players had reported that clearing all license tests on wet surfaces, as required, did not unlock the trophy. Polyphony Digital didn’t say whether the fix should retroactively pop the trophy or not.

Last but not least, the issue of Thrustmaster TH8A shifter not working properly has been fixed. “Fixed an issue wherein the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter would not operate properly when connected to the USB,” Polyphony Digital wrote. “Please note that the PlayStation 5 console is not compatible with this USB connection. The shifter can be used by connecting it directly to the steering wheel base using a ‘DIN-to-DIN’ cable.”

There’s a lot more in the patch notes so make sure to give them a look here.

In other news, the long-forgotten Overwatch 2 is apparently alive and well, and surprisingly, so is Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones.
