Studio Director of MDHR says team was completely shocked when Nintendo wanted to add Cuphead to Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Fanbyte recently had the opportunity to chat with Maja Moldenhauer, the Studio Director of Studio MDHR, and discuss the upcoming Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course which is due out at the end of the month. Talk eventually got round to how Moldenhauer and the team felt when they were approached by Nintendo asking about adding Cuphead as a Mii Fighter costume to the immensely popular Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. She said they were shocked and had to drop their jaws off the floor. The Cuphead DLC launches on 30th June via the Switch eShop.

Nintendo approached MDHR about adding Cuphead to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Moldenhauer described their initial reaction as an expletive she asked me not to transcribe, but added they had to “pick their jaws up off the floor” when they heard.
