It was back in June 2021 that we told you how the FAR series was going to be evolving, with Changing Tides looking to follow on from the initial launch of FAR: Lone Sails. Well now that second game has got itself a fully confirmed released date. It’s coming to Game Pass too.

FAR: Changing Tides from Frontier Foundry and the development team at Okomotice will be launching on March 1st 2022.

Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store and both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, FAR: Changing Tides swaps Lone Sails’ sand dunes for sea waves, as the team give players the chance to join the life of Toe; a hero trapped in landscape with little hope of survival.

Up for pre-order on the usual digital stores from today – with the Xbox Store link right here – FAR: Changing Tides is promised to come with the same art style, similar meditative gameplay and a haunting soundtrack, when it does drop. And after massively enjoying what was provided in Lone Sails (we gave it a 4.5/5 in review), hopes are seriously high for this one.

To celebrate the pre-orders opening up, and that all-important release date being known, the teams behind it have dropped a brand new trailer. Give it a watch below…

Further, there are also two new lo-fi soundtrack videos, Soundwaves, which have been created using in-game assets. Across a two-hour runtime, these meditative videos invite listeners to lose themselves in the world created by Okomotive, from the gentle lapping of the waves to the rhythmic thump of the mighty engine that powers the ramshackle vehicle across a flooded world. Anyone who needs to relax and wants some help to ease themselves into 2022, would do well to enjoy the first Soundwaves – Above…

We’ll be sure to follow with a full launch piece come the release on March 1st, fast complemented with review of FAR: Changing Tides on Xbox. For now though, give those videos and little watch and let us know your thoughts.
