Riot Games has named prediction platform BallStreet Trading as the official fantasy and fan engagement partner for Teamfight Tactics North America Esports.
Starting this May, BallStreet Trading will look to serve as an extension to competitive Teamfight Tactics’ fan-viewing experience.
As a part of the deal, the platform will host free-to-play real-time prediction contests for fans during official North American Teamfight Tactics events.
Matt Archambault, Head of Esports Partnerships for NA & OCE at Riot Games, spoke on the partnership in a release: “BallStreet Trading delivers games of calculated strategy and skill, which makes BallStreet an exciting complement to competitive Teamfight Tactics.
“We’ve seen how dynamic and engaging fantasy games can be in traditional sports and competitive League of Legends communities, and we cannot wait for competitive Teamfight Tactics fans to enjoy their first fantasy Teamfight Tactics experience through BallStreet.”
Additionally, the parties will collaborate with other brands to provide rewards for viewers who tune into Teamfight Tactics competitions. According to the release, the partnership will offer brand sponsors the opportunity to ‘create unique and compelling digital marketing channels and be part of live Teamfight Tactics events’.
Scott San Emeterio, BallStreet CEO, also commented: “We are elated for the opportunity to work with Riot Games and offer a real-time competitive experience to fans of North American Teamfight Tactics esports. Our focus will be on understanding the Teamfight Tactics audience and making sure we are enhancing their viewing experience.
“Through BallStreet’s next-generation fantasy game, we hope to give competitive Teamfight Tactics fans an engaging platform where they can connect, compete, and win great prizes while watching live matches. We’re excited to help enhance the viewing experience of competitive Teamfight Tactics with a never-before-seen product in the space.”
BallStreet Trading creates live trading-style markets that allow fans to compete against each other in predictions during various live events, such as the major American sports events and esports competitions.
“After GameStop Mania, we’ve seen more interest than ever before in trading, and there’s a continued demand for products that help elevate the sports and gaming fan experience,” said San Emeterio. “BallStreet Trading is a combination of both interest areas, and we feel competitive Teamfight Tactics is the perfect game to guide the future of fantasy gaming in esports. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity.”
Esports Insider says: It seems that Riot Games intends to fully activate its Teamfight Tactics esports scene. The announcement comes after the conclusion of the Teamfight Tactics: Fates Championship, one of the few official TFT tournaments hosted by Riot. The partnership clearly implies that Riot plans to hold TFT competitions more often, therefore it’ll be interesting to see what impact will this collaboration have on the title’s fan engagement and growth of its esports scene.
